Thanksgiving Dinner

We had a simple and sumptuous Thanksgiving dinner last week. We supposed to have hubby's friend at work and his wife come over for dinner but they cancelled it. So we ended up celebrating it ourselves.

Daughter and I prepared some pies, turkey, horderves, honey glazed ham, buttered beans and some appetizers. It was a lovely dinner I must say.

Now we have plenty of leftovers in the fridge. I'm hoping we can finish eating them before Christmas...lol!

My daughter had a week off last week due to Thanksgiving holiday. She's been helping me decorating and doing some chores in the house. Thanks a lot anak!

We're pretty much done decorating the house. Well, except for our dining table because I  haven't started putting the Thanksgiving decors away yet. I will have to get rid of them very soon.

Our Christmas Tree is UP!

Our Christmas tree is finally up! Daughter and I decorated it last weekend. Supposedly, our Christmas tree theme this year should be green and gold. But if you have a fickle mind like me, things can change very quickly.

Poor little girl. I'm sorry baby for dragging you into this. You have a crazy mother!

So instead of bows, poinsettias, and other ornaments, we have colorful Christmas balls themethis year. So simple!

It looks pretty neat though, especially when the lights are on.

Rock "N" Roll Half Marathon

Our city had a huge event last Sunday. My BIL and his buddies from Dallas came down to participate in the 5th Annual Rock "n" Roll Marathon & Half Marathon here in SA.

According to the report, there were more than 21,000 people who joined at the said event. My BIL participated in the Half Marathon competition.

Daughter was very supportive and never complained at all. Normally, she complains about anything...lol! We were there standing the whole 2 hours cheering for my BIL and other participants.

After the competition, we met up with my BIL at his hotel room to congratulate him. He finished the 21k for 2 hours and 20 minutes. Daughter got a chance to wear his Uncle Bryan's finisher medal.

Plan Your Own Horse Trail Adventure

Going on vacations is something that we enjoy as a family. It is one of our favorite family bonding activities. Not only do we get to visit beautiful places but we also get to meet interesting people. Our daughter is also learning a lot from the various trips that we have taken in the past. We also get to add to our collections of different items such as postcards and bills and coins from other countries. We also love the outdoors and we always look forward to doing something that will allow us to make the most out of the wonderful weather.

A horseback trail adventure is actually next on our list. Although we may be novice riders, we know that we will surely enjoy going on a horseback trail adventure. We are looking into places which are suitable for families, with trails that are perfect for both beginners and advance riders. We are also planning on staying overnight so that we can fully enjoy the adventure. We are making a list of the things that we need to bring such as the proper riding gear such as riding boots and riding apparel. We also learned that we may need to buy a horse rug that can keep our horse warm during the night. We may have to look into the saxon rugs from equestrian clearance for some quality and affordable horse rugs. With different brands available, each having their own unique designs and colors, I’m sure will find the perfect horse rug.

We are making all the necessary preparations because we know that this ensure that our horseback trail adventure will be hassle free and stress free if we plan for it carefully. We already have a shortlist of the places that we are seriously considering and we are hoping to make a final decision soon on when and where to have our horseback trail adventure.

Christmas is only a few weeks away and I’m sure that your family has already started with your own preparations for the holidays. Our family is always excited about Christmas and we look forward to spending quality time together. Among the many things that we like to do to prepare for the holidays is making our own Christmas decorations. Although we also have decorations that were brought from nearby stores, we also like to make our own Christmas decorations. Making Christmas decorations is a great bonding activity and it also enhances the imagination and creativity of our daughter.

We send them to family and friends especially to those that we like to keep in touch with even though we don’t get to see them regularly. They also appreciate our cards more because they know that we took the time to make them ourselves. With our own printer, we get to print as many high quality Christmas cards and calendars as we want. Aside from cards, we also get to make our own Christmas wrappers. Personalized Christmas wrappers make our gifts more unique. We sometimes look for templates online that we like and we just add our own designs to it to give to customize its look. Printing our own cards, calendars and wrappers are not only a great bonding activity for our family but it is also more practical since they cost less than those that are commercially available. I might have to check Dallas Printers to see if they have deals on printers because I need a new printing machine.
